Serving Ministries
First Impressions
From the time people drive into our parking lot until the time they return home, we love creating a warm and inviting environment with an Ohana atmosphere.
Be a part of our visitor's first impression as you direct them to and into our building safely. Serving opportunities are available during both our Saturday night and Sunday morning services
A smile, a warm handshake, a hug, and a friendly greeting - offered to our guests to help them feel God's love. Our purpose is to provide a warm and friendly church and to make everyone feel welcome.
Serving opportunities are available during both our Saturday night and Sunday morning services. Saturday greeting teams serve once every four weeks and Sunday teams serve once every six weeks. Saturday teams must arrive at 4:45 p.m. and Sunday teams arrive at 8:45 a.m.
We offer continued warmth and friendly smiles to our worshipers. Our mission as servants of Christ, is to care for and help people find their way in His home to hear His Word. Ushers greet and escort people to seats, assist in the collection of offering, tidy up seats and replenish supplies in back of seat pockets.
Serving opportunities are available for both Saturday night and Sunday morning services. Saturday ushers serve twice a month and Sunday ushers serve once or twice a month. All ushers need to arrive thirty minutes prior to service.
We oversee the busiest, most popular gathering spot in the church - the refreshment tables! Our mission is to lovingly serve the church through food and refreshments. Our joy is to plate and serve food delivered for each service; prepare coffee and water; and clean-up after service.
Serving opportunities are available for both Saturday night and Sunday morning services. People are scheduled to serve once a month on a specific weekend. For example, every first Saturday for 12 months; that's serving 12 times per year.
This "behind-the-scenes" team is a great way to get involved and give back. Our mission is to serve the Lord by cleaning His church and to provide an opportunity to get connected and meet great people by working alongside them. Our duties include all the fun stuff! Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning the restrooms, taking out the trash and cleaning windows. We have teams that serve once every four weeks. Teams meet either Friday evenings at 6 & 7 p.m. or Saturday mornings at 7 & 9 a.m.
All of our teams welcome new members - more hands make for lighter work!
Caring Ministries
Our caring ministries love and care for our church body in small, meaningful ways.
Prayer and intercession are essential in our lives as Believers and vital in our relationship with God. This Ministry actively encourages, uplifts, and serves the church body and communicates confidently and joyfully with God. Please join us Tuesdays evenings at 7:00 p.m. for a time of corporate and individual prayer - everyone is welcome to attend!
This team also serves on a rotational basis to offer prayer for anyone in need at each of our weekend services. You can find them near the Connect Station.
Help communicate an expression of love and care to people in the church by creating and sending greeting cards to encourage, comfort, and lift them up in times of need. Caring Crafters meet on the first and third Saturday of the month at 9am. Contact caringcrafters@southbaycommunitychurch.com for more info.
Helping Hands
Serving to establish a safe environment for all.
We value the safety of all those who come to our church, whether for weekend services or special events. Our First Responders ministry is designed to help in any medical situations or emergencies that may occur during service. Those with medical backgrounds are perfect for this ministry, but CPR, AED, and First Aid training is also offered to those who want to learn and serve!
Our Security Ministry helps to keep a safe and secure environment for our church family. They are our extra set of eyes available to support our church if an emergency should occur.
Local and Global Missions
Local Mission
Reaching out and loving on our community
We are all called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ! So, please join us as we go to hand out gospel tracts and invitations to SBCC at Redondo Beach Pier and local parks. LifeGuards are on the lookout to save lives and serve from 11a-1p on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month! Please contact dan@southbaycommunitychurch.com for more info!
Many seniors in care facilities feel lonely and abandoned, which gives us an opportunity to meet them with the care and kindness of Christ! Please join our Bay Crest team which meets various times throughout the week to pray, talk, sing, evangelize, read Scripture, and share stories with the dear residents of this senior center. Please contact dan@southbaycommunitychurch.com for more info!
