South Bay Community Church was founded on September 20, 1992 by Senior Pastor Gary Shiohama and a team of 15 people.
Each week, the team unpacked all of their equipment from a truck and set up church in the Japanese Cultural Institute (JCI) in Gardena, CA.
In the fall of 1998, the Lord has provided a public storage building, where we met for 12 years.
When our lease ended, we began meeting in various locations across the South Bay, until God graciously blessed us with our current home on 2549 West 190th Street.
In the summer of 2023, Pastor Gary Shiohama retired as the Senior Pastor at SBCC. God has faithfully used Pastor Gary to lead our church for the past 30+ years!
In July of 2023, the Lord called Pastor Greg Mah as our new Senior Pastor to take SBCC into next season.
