Why no Harvest Festival this year?

Since October 31st falls on a Saturday and conflicts with our Saturday worship service, we’re switching things up with a fun Trunk-or-Treat for families! Join us Saturday, October 31st, from 6:00–8:00 PM at South Bay Community Church for a FREE evening of treats and fun. The event is designed especially for families with children ages 2 through 5th grade, though younger and older siblings are welcome too. Kids must stay with a parent or responsible adult throughout the event. No registration is required and there are no assigned arrival times, just come anytime between 6:00–8:00 PM! Details about parking and the event entrance will be shared closer to the event.

What can we expect when we arrive?

Families will enter the designated trunk-or-treat route and walk from trunk to trunk. After completing the route, families will be directed back to their cars. To help us safely welcome as many families as possible and keep parking available for those arriving, we kindly ask families not to gather or linger after completing the route.

Do children need to wear costumes?

Costumes are welcome but not required. We ask families to choose costumes that are modest, family-friendly, and not frightening. Please avoid costumes involving realistic weapons, blood, gore, or scary themes.

Will there be scary decorations?

Our trunk hosts are asked to create fun, welcoming displays that are appropriate for young children. Decorations and costumes with gore, realistic violence, occult themes, or excessively frightening imagery are not permitted.

Does a parent need to stay?

Yes. This is not a drop-off event. Children must remain with a parent or responsible adult at all times. Parents are responsible for supervising their children throughout the event.

What if my child has a food allergy?

Candy will be distributed from multiple trunks, so SBCC cannot guarantee that treats are free from particular allergens or cross-contact. Parents should review all ingredient labels before allowing their children to eat any treats.

Families are welcome to decline any item that is not appropriate for their child.

Will food be available?

No. Food will not be served or available for purchase at this event. Families are encouraged to eat before or after attending.

May children bring toy weapons as part of a costume?

No. Please leave toy guns, swords, knives, and other costume weapons at home.

Can we bring a stroller or wagon?

Yes. Strollers and wagons are welcome. Please be mindful of other families and keep all driving lanes, emergency routes, and trunk entrances clear.

Will there be seating or an area to gather?

No. This event is designed as a walk-through experience. Families will visit each trunk and then return to their cars. There will not be a designated gathering, seating, or picnic area.

How long will the experience take?

The amount of time may vary depending on attendance, but families should plan for approximately 30 minutes to complete the trunk-or-treat route.

What happens if it rains?

Because the event is outdoors, severe weather may require a change or cancellation. Updates will be posted on our website and social media. 

Where should we park?

Please follow all posted signs and directions from our parking volunteers. Parking areas and walking routes will be clearly marked for the safety of all families.

Candy and prize donations will be accepted in the lobby on the weekends in October. 

May we stay and visit after completing the trunk-or-treat route?

Trunk-or-Treat is designed as a walk-through experience rather than a fellowship event. After visiting the trunks, families will be directed back to their vehicles. There will not be food, seating, additional activities, or a designated gathering area.

Because parking is limited and families will continue arriving throughout the event, we kindly ask everyone to leave promptly after completing the route.
